In order: US, Europe, Japan

Publisher: SNK / Sega (Co-Publisher)
Developer: Dimps / Sonic Team (Co-Developer)
System(s): Neo Geo Pocket Color
Released in US: Nov. 30, 1999
Released in EU: Dec. 3, 1999
Released in JP: Jan. 11, 2000
Genre: Platform

This game is really something. Released about a year after Sonic Adventure, Dimps' first try at a Sonic game, and if you're familar with the Advance series, I guess you can call this "Sonic Advance before Sonic Advance". Even with it's similarities with the classic series, it's still a solid platformer, and I recommend this to anyone. Getting rave scores (which is rare for a sonic game nowadays, 2D or 3D.), hell IGN gave this a 10.

Anywho, about the game itself, here are some neat little facts:
Image This is the 2nd sonic game to be on a non-SEGA system. The first being Sonic Jam on the Tiger Game.com
Image Until Sonic and the Secret Rings a few years ago, this was the last game to have Sonic only playable.
Image This was also probably the only attempt to mix the two style of Sonic, as well as have Eggman in his old and new outfit as well.

So what I have in mind for this LP is to have guest. So if you want to guest commentate, feel free to post a comment or talk to me on Skype for when you can do it. Here are the zones we'll be doing:

Neo South Island: Hbomberguy Complete
Secret Plant: Quantum Crayons Complete
Cosmic Casino: Freezing Inferno Complete
Aquatic Relix: CFBalla Complete
Sky Chase & Aerobase: Metroixer Complete
Gigantic Angel: Soapynome Complete

Mentioned in the first video, puzzle pieces are, at least I think so, a way to add to the already short game. There are 96 total, and it's random as to how many is in each act. As of now, I've only found 93, but I'll try and find the last 3. Also below are the puzzles that the pieces are used for:

Image Puzzle Pieces as of Last Utopia Zone: 93/96 Image

Took a while, but after some skype issues, we finally got it.

I'll be uploading the SPZ-Puzzle Collecting video later on as well as updating the puzzles pictures. Next actual part might take longer, since I'm going to be searching for a new codec for Premiere.

I have a soft spot for 8 bit remixes of 16 bit MIDIs, so the tracks in the last episode were really cool.

Also QC breathes into his mic a lot :P

Different mic than I'm used to, kept moving about the place.

Found some handy maps of the game's levels. It'll make collecting these much easier.

Also, if you noticed, the first puzzle is finished!

I like the presentation in the thread, but the framerate sucks and there is a lot, a lot, of ghosting that you need to fix before you can continue with this LP.

I'm quite alarmed that neither Metroixer nor
SoapyNome has pointed out the flaws in the video. They both know what I'm talking about.

The framerate seems fine to me.
I'm not seeing any ghosting, but I don't really know what to look for so there's a good chance you're right on that count.

Haha, no I like you're stuff, I'm just going by the rules. :?

One questions though, why would you want to de-interlace a system that shows progressive video? There is as far as I can tell no setting in any NGPC emulator that let's you run it interlaced.

When editing in Vegas, no matter which codec I use for .AVI, it gives me those dirty interlacing lines. So I've been trying to fix that since pt.2 (and I think I finally got a solution).

You're using Vegas? I have had the exact same problem. It fixed when I changed the project to progressive scan rather than interlaced. Try that.

Had you asked in the Tech Support I could have told you it was because Vegas defaults to NTSC DV settings and no change of codec can change that. Changing the settings for the export can just as somestrangeflea suggested fix that though.

Am I the only one who had the graphics go all glitchy for a split second at least twice while watching the video?

I dunno, maybe it's just me. Wouldn't want that to get past Brad's all seeing eyes ;)

Other than that it looks good, balla seems to have some sort of intimate feelings for soapy :3.

Nope, it's happened to me too.

I have the same problem with my videos too. What do you use for capturing, GBH? If it's CamStudio (or something using the CamStudio codec), then the problem's caused in (possibly by) Vegas.

I'm thinking it's Premiere actually. I'll get this sorted out by pt.5. I should know what's wrong.
